With the wind in her hair and the salt tickling her nose, a Captain heads out for a day on the brine.

She is hungry, throws out her fishing line and waits…

From sundown to sunset, the captain discovers a world where albatross soar and whales play. An ecosystem at play in the Ocean’s endless blue.

Like the tide, there is an ebb and flow to life out on the brine and Emma Stuart’s stunning illustrations bring to life this magical rhyming tale.

Set on the west coast of Australia, if you have a fascination with boats, sea life and the ocean, you’ll love this award-winning sequel to A Big Blue Boat.

About The Author

Gary Lonesborough.png

A retired classroom teacher who majored in English and Children's Literature, Susea spent 23 years making literacy learning fun for her young students. Susea has always written in one form or another.

A decade ago, she and her husband commenced on an around the world sailing odyssey. As she documented the sailing journey, notes and ideas for children’s picture books were taking form.

Today, Susea shares her love of language, sailing and sea with young and old through the eyes of a big blue boat and a young girl - her Captain.

Susea's first book A Big Blue Boat, was released in March 2022. Based upon her adventures, the book fills the niche market of realistic sailing stories for young children, particularly girls.

In between writing and sailing, Susea also loves to research, cook, photograph and go for long walks.
