Dum Spiro Spero - While I breathe, I hope.

For over two hundred years, the Old Gods have been imprisoned, and the Five Kingdoms have thrived under the protection of the Goddess, Bethan. But now, the peace is threatened by the selfish ambitions of those who would see the Old Gods return.

Galea, a fierce young woman, has been called by the Goddess to join the Guild sworn to protect her Kingdom, but her path is anything but divine. The world scoffs at her, believing her placement to be a divine mistake, but Galea won't be dismissed so easily.

Caught in the middle of a plot against the Royal family, Galea finds herself fighting the shadows that would see the fall of her Kingdom.

As secrets unravel, and loyalties fracture, Galea must decide what kind of warrior- and what kind of woman- she's willing to become to protect her people and claim the fate Bethan saw for her.

About The Author

Gary Lonesborough.png

AJ Miles lives in Tasmania, Australia with her husband, three sons, three cats, and far too many chickens.

Drawn to stories with flawed but fierce protagonists, ancient magic, and morally complex choices, she writes worlds where the stakes are high and the emotions run deep.

When she isn't writing, she's probably reading, dancing through her house to whatever tune is stuck on repeat, hyperfixating on yet another new craft, or she's arguing with her chickens– who, frankly, have no respect for fencing.

Sadly, she's only good at one of those things.

Reading. It's reading.
