We often see a woman’s strength without ever knowing the story behind it.

From a Woman’s Perspective — Stories of Strength That Refused to Stay Silent brings together true stories of women whose lives have been shaped by hardship, difficult choices, love, loss, resilience and the courage to continue.

After more than 30 years working closely with women through the fitness industry, Betty Concina came to understand that the person we see on the outside can carry an entirely different story within. Conversations shared over the years revealed experiences that were often deeply personal and rarely spoken about—the quiet battles, sacrifices and moments of courage that can shape a woman’s life.

The first story Betty began writing was that of her mother, Eva. From there grew a collection that gives space to the experiences of different women without judging the choices they made or defining what strength should look like.

Rather than presenting strength as something loud or heroic, the book explores the quieter forms of courage: surviving, starting again, making difficult decisions, holding on to hope and finding the strength to speak after years of silence.
Each story invites the reader not only into another woman’s experience, but also to reflect on the stories, choices and silences within their own life.

Written with empathy and honesty, From a Woman’s Perspective is ultimately about being seen, being heard and recognising that strength can take many forms.

The book is also available in Greek, reflecting Betty’s Greek-Australian heritage and allowing these stories to travel across languages, cultures and generations.

Betty Concina is a Greek-Australian author based in New South Wales. For more than 30 years, she has worked closely with women through the fitness industry, an experience that gave her a unique insight into the stories people often carry quietly behind the lives others see.

Her mother Eva’s story was the first she began writing and became the starting point for From a Woman’s Perspective — Stories of Strength That Refused to Stay Silent. Betty’s writing explores women’s experiences, resilience, courage and the importance of giving voice to stories that too often remain unspoken.

The book is available in English and Greek, reflecting Betty’s Greek-Australian heritage and her desire for these stories to reach women across cultures and generations. Betty has also been featured by The Greek Herald.
