Jumbled up Jimmy opens the door to an important conversation about difference, inclusion, empathy and individuality, while keeping the message fun and accessible for young readers.
Rather than suggesting that children who behave or think differently need to change, it celebrates Jimmy’s unique way of experiencing the world.
The book gives parents, educators, and children a natural starting point for conversations about acceptance, friendship, kindness, and looking beyond assumptions. Its humour and relatable situations make these bigger ideas easy for children to understand, while giving adults an opportunity to reflect on how we respond to children who don't always fit conventional expectations.
Jumbled up Jimmy offers a positive and timely angle on raising inclusive children and using children's literature to encourage empathy and celebrate individuality.
