For the last four years, the country has been embroiled in a bitter war within its’ own borders, pitting those of the North against those of the South.
Some say it is about Slavery, while others say it is about those who were FOR President Lincoln and His Administration, versing those AGAINST him and all he stood for. But those on both sides of either of these opposing views, had to deal with the same end reality. The country had been adversely damaged, and the greatest and last casualty to their former united peace, and to the ranks of the Fathers, Sons, Brothers and cousins, was no less than President Lincoln himself.
Such was a loss that one side had some rejoicing in, with many others, especially on the other side, mourning. In the aftermath of this war, amidst the onset of this grief, and the preliminary period that would lead to reconstruction, there were those who had survived, given the gift of time, to be able to return home, and try and regain some stability, both mentally and emotionally.
Among these, we find our main character, Jordan Whitley, a Union soldier, who was anxiously anticipating the opportunities for peace, and some return to normalcy, at least inasmuch as can be re-established in spite of the after-effects of a war that had brought America to the brink of splitting apart.
But his return home did not give the immediate salve to the experiential wounds he had undergone while away, for little had he known that there was a secret that was to come bubbling to the surface, no longer able to be contained, that would not only explain some of the horror that the country had been recently subjected to, but would threaten to tear his own family apart.
The love of country is what sent Jordan and many others to fight to begin with, but could there be enough love left to keep his own family from splitting apart?
Only a love that exceeded philosophical and even state borders could spare the country from implosion, and such love was going to be needed to save his family from divisions that could tear them apart as well.

About The Author

Joshua is a recovering Canadian, having migrated to Australia in 2012 after a Rocky Mountain Wedding with his Filipina Fiancée.
After a few years in Sydney where she grew up, and one son having joined them, they relocated to Adelaide to prepare for the forthcoming arrival of their next son, little knowing that one daughter would come thereafter, joined by 4 more sons, bringing them to become parents of 7.
Amidst the coming of their second son, and then only daughter, “Love beyond Borders’ was also birthed, in response to the loving challenge given to him by his wife who noted that he loved history, and creative writing and should combine both. So he took her up on it, and as he completed the manuscript, she applied her incredible digital artistry skills, and thus it was given the perfect face it needed, featuring her keen and amazing eye that offered readers a perfect visual with the Front Cover.
Thus, a collaboration of divine proportions was organically fostered, that combined Joshua’s addiction to history and love of expressing such creatively, and his wife’s amazing talent with her artists’ hand, offered readers the best of both worlds. Joshua’s debut novel is the perfect presentation that welcomes the readers into this world, loosely representing a time gone by, and offering those who engage therein to look more into the events of this time.
The question is posed of whether what we have been led to believe about the aftermath of President Lincoln ‘s assassination is true to life, or has been fabricated and thus been a tool of deception for the masses over the past 160 years.
