Successful Australian actress, Indigo James, was happily living in LA until she discovered her actor fiancé, had an affair. She also missed out on a huge TV role that would have been her big break.
Needing time out to let her heart heal, Indie heads back to Sydney to house-sit for her friends, Jazz and Stu, and look after their enormous labradoodle called George. Indie knows nothing about dogs, and to make matters worse she has an unexpected housemate – the handsome but intolerable Jeremy Taylor.
Indie and Jem dislike each other intensely, despite having shared a passionate kiss at Jazz and Stu’s wedding five years ago. Jem is scathing of actors and their lifestyle, while Indie finds him arrogant and rude. The thought of living with him is unbearable, but Indie has no other option.
Broke and exhausted, Indie needs to re-charge and save some money so she can return to Hollywood and pursue her dream. However, Indie’s Sydney sojourn tumbles into chaos as her career comes to a standstill, her father’s health is flailing, and she learns that Jazz and Stu are having marital problems that she knew nothing about.
She starts to realise her desire to succeed has become more important to her than the people she loves. On top of it all she has to live with an annoying housemate and look after a demanding dog, both of which prove to be more trouble than anticipated.
But just as the tension between Indie and Jem starts to sizzle, Hollywood calls and Indie must return to LA as she is very close to a lead in a major TV series.
This is everything she’s ever wanted but is forced to choose between her dream role and the possible man of her dreams. Why can’t she have it all?
