A story about individual differences, based on the different personalities of a dog and a cat who live under the same owner Mr Prim.
Mr Prim is always telling Scruffy off and telling Silk how special she is. Scruffy gets sadder and sadder until he can't sleep at night. When a thief breaks into the house, Scruffy creeps up, trips over the thief and keeps guard while Mr Prim calls the police.
When the police officer comments on Scruffy's bravery, Mr Prim finally realises that Scruffy is just as good at Silk and tells them they're both wonderful in their own different ways.
