What if the person you think you are is only half the story?

What if the prisons that bind you are not walls of stone, but whispers from your unconscious mind?

Have you noticed how certain patterns keep returning — the same arguments, the same disappointments, the same stories? You change jobs, you change partners, you move cities, even countries… and yet somehow, something familiar keeps repeating.

The Last Nine Kingdoms of the Merry-Go-Round is a mythic and visual journey through the Enneagram’s nine patterns, revealing how fear becomes identity and how unconscious reactions keep us circling old wounds.

Unlike traditional Enneagram books, this work does not approach the types as labels or descriptions alone. It transforms them into nine symbolic Kingdoms — living inner landscapes filled with Dragons, Archetypes, Rulers, Totems, and hidden Gardens of Essence. Through richly imagined drawings, story, symbol, and gentle wisdom, Hélène Grillot makes the unconscious visible.

This is not a book of self-improvement. It is a book of self-remembering. Each Kingdom reveals a different pattern of the human heart: the fear that whispers, the identity that forms around it, the survival strategy that repeats, and the forgotten essence waiting beneath it all.

At the centre of the journey lies the Sacred Garden of Essence — a place where nothing needs proving, only remembering.

For readers drawn to the Enneagram, spiritual awakening, shadow work, inner healing, and the mystery of unconscious patterns, this book offers a different way forward: not through becoming someone new, but through seeing clearly what was never truly lost.

About The Author

Gary Lonesborough.png

Hélène Grillot is a writer whose work explores consciousness, fear, and human behaviour through a psychological and contemplative lens.

Her first book, Just Be Yourself (2017), examined awakening through lived experience rather than theory. In The Last Nine Kingdoms of the Merry-Go-Round, she expands this inquiry into a broader cultural conversation about fear, identity, and the limits of self-improvement.

Her writing is grounded in direct experience and speaks to readers seeking clarity, meaning, and emotional honesty without ideology.
