For almost ten years, Robert Quint has hidden in plain sight.

Behind the counter of Weekly Rental Video, life has always made sense. Movies have happy endings. Customers become friends. Every problem can be solved by recommending the right film.

But outside the store, life refuses to follow the script.

It's 2016, and Quint finds himself watching the people he loves move forward while he remains stubbornly frozen in place. His best friend is getting married, his high school crush is moving overseas, his co-workers are chasing dreams of their own, and the little suburban video store that has sheltered him for so long is preparing to switch off its neon sign for good.

Funny, honest and quietly heartbreaking, Weekly Rental is a novel about nostalgia, growing older, found family, missed opportunities, and discovering that sometimes the scariest thing isn't saying goodbye to the past.. It's finally deciding what comes next.

For everyone who ever wandered the aisles of a video store hoping to find the perfect movie, Weekly Rental is a reminder that the stories which change us most are rarely the ones on the screen.
